Annual Merit Awards 2019
2019 Application Deadline: January, 2019
FOTAD sponsors annual merit scholarships for outstanding Department of Theater and Dance majors. Scholarship awards vary but typically are in the $500 to $1000 range. All majors who maintain a 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply. Students may apply for the FOTAD Merit Awards through SIUE Academic Works.
Students will be asked for the following as part of the application process:
- General application materials
- Faculty nomination via email
- Current unofficial transcript
- One-page cover letter
- Resume
- Digital photo
Area Specific Materials:
- Design/Technical Theater Majors - Portfolio compiled and shown at interview with FOTAD awards committee.
- Theater Education Majors - Teaching portfolio compiled and shown at interview with FOTAD awards committee.
- Literature-History-Criticism Majors - Position paper no longer than 3 pages (submitted electronically by Jan. 19, 2018) and present at interview with FOTAD awards committee.
- Dance Majors - Two 1½ minute dance pieces present at interview with FOTAD awards committee.
- Performance Majors - Two contrasting monologue presentations, 1 dramatic and 1 comedic, no longer than 1½ minute present at interview with FOTAD awards committee.
