Outdoor Recreation Sports Complex
The Outdoor Recreation Sports Complex or "RecPlex" is an outdoor facility at SIUE that hosts many aspects of Campus Recreation. Activities include, but not limited to: Intramural / Club Sports games, student organization rentals/BBQ, informal student recreation, and community field rentals. The RecPlex consists of a picnic pavilion, concession area and a variety of synthetic turf and grass playing fields.
Recreational Sports Complex and Synthetic Turf Policies
RecPlex Pavilion Amenities:
- University Wi-Fi
- Covered pavilion
- Picnic tables
- Men's/women's restrooms
- Electric outlets
- Stationary BBQ grill
- Additional bleacher seating and player bench seating at select playing fields
- Concession area (refrigerator, ice machine, microwave, sink)
- Stereo/PA system – wireless microphone system
- Water fountain/bottle fill station
- Video Surveillance system
Club Sports Field
- Natural grass
- Soccer – 70 x 120 yards (seasonal)
- Football – 53.3 x 120 yards (seasonal)
- Operational scoreboard

South Recreation Field
- Natural grass
- Lines are seasonal with recreation sport usage
*Additional lines require authorization/charge from Campus Recreation
Turf Multipurpose Field (Lighted)
- Synthetic turf playing surface
- (1) NCAA regulation soccer 75 x 120 yard
- (2) Flag football 40 x 100 yards
- (2) Intramural soccer 55 x 75 yards
- Enclosed facility with 8’ fence height

Softball Field (Lighted)
- Covered dugouts with team benches
- Enclosed facility with 300’ outfield fence
- Operational scoreboard
- 7’x3’ batter’s box (standard softball)
- Synthetic turf infield with a natural grass, irrigated outfield
- 60’, 65’, 70’ anchored/removable base lengths
- 43’ & 50’ anchored/removable pitching rubbers (portable pitching mound available upon request – *additional fee may apply)
Rental Information:
All fields have line markings for the Intramural or Club Sport in season. If additional line striping is required, groups will be charged a flat amount per field for that service. Standard rental rates do not include lighting. Groups requiring field lighting will be charged an hourly fee for that service.

*SIUE Student Organization sponsored functions, where the function is targeting 100% student participation, and not a fundraising activity, will receive the facility free of charge, minus direct costs for materials/staff. Requests for these types of events should be made at least one week in advance.
