Welcome to the SIUE East St. Louis Charter High School Counselor's Corner. This page will provide you with information and links to help CHS students have a successful high school career and prepare for life beyond high school. The mission of the counseling department is aligned with the school's mission, which is to prepare students to be college- and career- ready upon graduation. Certified school counselors are advocates for the students and work to provide a comprehensive, developmental school counseling program to address the academic, career, and personal/social needs of every student.

- Chestnut Health Systems Crisis Line - 618-877-0316 (7:30 am - 3:300 pm, Monday - Friday). Individuals 17 and older may come in and talk with qualified staff and no advance appointments are needed. An individual can call 618-877-4420 or 618-397-0900 the day they would like to come in and see a therapist.

Virtual Campus Tours
The impact of COVID – 19 also known as the corona virus have been devastating many aspects of our everyday lives. We have been forced to accept a new normal way of life with a timeline of uncertainty. To address this issue many college admission offices are providing virtual campus tours in lieu of in – person tours. If you are interested in a virtual campus tour please contact the college and view their admissions office page for more information
PSAT / SAT Testing
2020 State-mandated assessments have been waived due to the coronavirus. More information will be available in the future regarding juniors SAT fall testing opportunities.

Decision / Admission Deadline Extensions
Typically students entering their freshman year of college have until May 1st to make the important decision of where they will attend. Due to the significant impact of COVID – 19 and the pressure students may be facing to make a decision, colleges have decided to extend the decision deadline to June 1, 2020.
Credit Recovery
Students enrolled in Edgenuity Credit Recovery Courses: Please make sure you are working on the courses during this time. If you need assistance or an activity unlocked email me and it will be taken care of quickly. Remember this is an opportunity to recover a missed credit due to a semester failure.
