SIUE Workplace Safety Committee
The mission of the SIUE Workplace Safety Committee is to identify and correct safety hazards that may result in injury or other potentially harmful consequences.
Led by the manager of EHS, the Workplace Safety Committee works to reduce or eliminate the incidence of injuries in the workplace, improve safety in the work environment and communicate safety to all employees. The committee meets regularly to review employee accident reports and implements improved procedures, equipment or engineering controls to eliminate or reduce risk.
The SIUE Workplace Safety Committee is comprised of members of Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, Administrative Services, Facilities Management and University Housing Facilities Management. Campus partners and other departments are invited to identify unsafe areas or practices and bring these issues to meetings as necessary to enhance safety efforts at SIUE.
