What does this SAP status mean?
These are the different SAP statuses. For more information about your SAP status, visit SAP Requirements.
NEW/OK – You are in good standing and eligible for federal aid. Nothing needs to be done.
W-GPA/W-COM%/W-%GPA – You are on Warning status. This is a one-term-only status when you have fallen below minimum SAP standards, giving you a chance to raise your GPA and/or completion rate back to good standing while still using financial aid.
T-GPA/T-COM%/T-%GPA – Your financial aid has been Terminated for GPA and/or completion rate following an unsuccessful Warning semester. You will need to have an approved SAP appeal for aid to be reinstated.
PROBAT – You are on Probation after being Terminated for GPA and/or completion rate, have filed an appeal, and that appeal was approved. Probation is one semester, with SAP monitored at the end of the semester to determine if you can stay on Probation (and use financial aid) for another semester or not.
T-FLP – You were Terminated for GPA and/or completion rate, filed an appeal, had the appeal approved, and were placed on Probation. Then you failed to meet the requirements for Probation and now have a status of Terminated for Failed Probation. Another new appeal is required, and if approved, aid can be reinstated on a one-semester Probationary status.
T-MAX – You have been Terminated for Maximum Hours. You have gone over the 150% hours allowed by the Department of Ed to receive federal aid. A Grad Plan appeal to have your hours re-calculated is needed to see if your aid can be reinstated.
GRDPLN – You are currently finishing your program after having an approved Grad Plan appeal for Maximum Hours, and are using financial aid for the approved semesters.
INELIG – You are ineligible for financial aid. This is usually due to being an undeclared Graduate level student or a Senior with Degree without a declared major. For a Senior with Degree to be eligible to use financial aid, a new major must be declared – must be a different major than the prior degree. If you are taking undergraduate prerequisite classes for admission to a new Graduate program or second Bachelor’s program, you may submit a GUNCL appeal to become eligible for financial aid on a short-term basis.
PREREQ – You have an approved GUNCL appeal. GUNCLs are submitted when there are undergraduate prerequisite classes that need to be taken for admission to a new graduate-level program or second bachelor’s program. Students are generally undeclared during this timeframe and therefore ineligible for financial aid. An approved GUNCL allows a student to become eligible while taking the prerequisite classes.
CERT – You currently have an approved TCERT and are eligible to use financial aid while pursuing a Teaching Certificate.
SRD – You are a Senior with a prior Degree and have a new major declared. This new major must be different from the prior earned degree. You are eligible for federal aid. There is nothing you need to do.
