I live in Evergreen Hall. What are my options?
I want to keep my space in Evergreen Hall…
Option 1: You can “homestead” (stay in the same type of space) by yourself. Select homesteader when completing the online Returning Resident Application.
Option 2: You can “homestead” (stay in the same type of space) and bring in any current resident into your current unit. Select 'Homestead' when completing the Returning Resident application. All roommates in the group must complete the Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 Housing application.
*Evergreen residents who choose to homestead are not guaranteed to return to the exact same unit in Evergreen Hall but are guaranteed the same type of space.
I want to live in a Living Learning Community (LLC)..
On your Housing application, select Living Learning Community and then put your preference for which you would like to live in. The Honors and Engineering LLCs are located in Evergreen Hall. The Health Professionals LLC is located in Cougar Village.
From there continue answering the questions on the application. You can still select room preferences. Once your application in complete, you are done! Your assignment will be sent out on February 7, 2025.
I want to move to a new space…
Option 1: A current Cougar Village or Evergreen Hall resident can “homestead” in their space and bring you into the unit. Select ‘Homestead Roommate’ on your application. All roommates in the group must complete the Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 Housing application.
Option 2: You can participate in Open Space Selection with a group of requested roommates or by yourself to pick a new space. To be eligible you must complete the Returning Resident application by January 31 and select ‘Open Space Selection’. You will later receive instructions in your SIUE email with the date and time to select your space.

I want to move to the residence hall upperclass space..
On your application, select ‘Residence Hall – Upperclass Space’. You will receive an email with your assignment in mid-February. Residents of the residence hall upperclass space must purchase one of the residential meal plans.

To qualify for these options, you must submit your Returning Resident Application and complete the $200 advanced payment by January 31, 2025.
