There are also pay-by-plate kiosks in Lot C (there is a two-hour daily time limit on this lot) Lots A, E, and F also have a limited number of pay-by-plate parking spaces that can be paid for by the hour by scanning one of the QR code signs and using T2 Mobile pay for parking by the hour.
Only current Students, Staff, Faculty, and others affiliated with the University are allowed to purchase annual or semester permits.
Hours of enforcement are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. There is open parking in all non-residential lots after those times and all-day Saturday and Sunday. Guests are not allowed to purchase annual or semester parking permits, but are allowed to purchase daily temporary parking that is valid for the Red lots, at a cost of $3.00 per day. To purchase a daily temporary virtual permit, you can do so by logging onto the Parking Portal or visiting the Parking Services office in room 1113 in Rendleman Hall.
Event Parking
Parking arrangements for events scheduled by external agencies, as well as University-sponsored events, are typically made by the Office of Online and Education Outreach or Event Services. Those departments work with Parking Services to make special parking arrangements. Please check with the event coordinator or Parking Services to see if accommodations have made for any event on campus. If no accommodations have been made, guests are required to pay to park on campus at one of the pay-by-plate kiosks or the T2 Mobile Pay areas by scanning the QR code.
For smaller events, guest parking is available to administrative and academic departments that have University fiscal accounts. The types of arrangements available are as follows:
- Offstreet parking registration links may be issued to register a visitors license plate for the date of the visit, upon advance request, by Parking Services to a University unit for its guest's parking. The use of a vehicles registration via an Offstreet link is charged to the requesting unit's account. Directions for using the Offstreet registration link and which lot(s) can be parked in, will be sent to participants by the sponsoring department.
University departments must fill out a Parking Services Special Request Form for guest permits and suspension of ticketing.
Camp Parking
All summer camp sponsors must purchase guest permits for camp participants who will be parking on campus. Employees teaching the camps, however, are expected to purchase appropriate employee permits.
Accommodations for drop-off and pick-up times of participants and any special activities during the camp sessions, such as parents invited to opening or closing sessions, will be made by the camp sponsor.
Drop off and pick up of participants should occur on Lots A, E and F only. It will not be allowed on the Hairpin. The University has a contract with Madison County Transit and their buses must be able to enter and leave the Hairpin without interference.
Housing Guests
Cougar Village overnight guests will be allowed to park in residential parking spaces at Cougar Village with appropriate overnight guest vehicle registration issued in accordance with University Housing's Overnight Guest Policy. Daytime guests may register at the Commons Building for parking which will be valid for a maximum of four hours and allows them to park in residential parking spaces. Visitors to Cougar Village who have a current non-residential SIUE parking registration for their vehicle may park in Lots 4A and 5A without any additional permits unless they plan to stay overnight.
Woodland, Prairie, Bluff and Evergreen Hall daytime guests may register their vehicle at the front desks of the residence halls for parking that is valid for a maximum of four hours. These guests may park in residential parking spaces in Lots WH, PH, BH or EH once their vehicle has been properly registered. An overnight guest may register their vehicle to park a vehicle in Lots WH, PH, BH or EH when the sponsoring resident completes the University Housing Overnight Guest Form and receives appropriate approval from Housing.
Contractor and Vendor Parking
Service permits are available to vendors who have service contracts with SIUE requiring them to make recurring trips to and from the University. Each of these vendors must submit a letter annually, on company stationery, through the appropriate company official to Parking Services. If requests are approved, recipients are entitled to park in service vehicle spaces or in regular spaces in any lot, but may not use pay spaces without paying. There is a three-hour daily time limit on all service permits. Vendors without current contracts with the University must pay to park at one of the pay-by-plate kiosks or the T2 Mobile Pay areas by scanning the QR code located in parking lots A, B, C, E, and F.
University Departments and Vendors must fill out a Request for a Service Permit.
The University will not ticket any State of Illinois, police or University vehicle parked on campus unless it is parked inappropriately in a designated accessible space, a fire lane or otherwise obstructing traffic. No additional SIUE permit is necessary.
