Applying to the School
*Applications for Fall 2025 Admission are Open!
The Office of Professional and Student Affairs encourages prospective SIUE School of Pharmacy students to schedule an appointment with a School of Pharmacy advisor to review the student academic profile and discuss the application cycle and academic requirements.
Prospective applicants should begin the application process one year before your intended start date. The SIUE School of Pharmacy requires that applicants complete and submit the PharmCAS application.
To begin the PharmCAS application, go to PharmCAS.org. Be sure to read the Application Instructions before you begin. When completing the PharmCAS application, be sure to:
- Send all official college transcripts to PharmCAS
- Identify and ask at least 2 evaluators to submit their letters of recommendation to PharmCAS
We have a created the PharmCAS Walkthrough video tutorial to provide you with a great overview of the PharmCAS application process.
You should also check out the PharmCAS Tips for Applicants Video Series.
When you complete your PharmCAS application you will be required to list all completed courses, all courses in which you are currently enrolled, and all courses that you plan to take prior to beginning the PharmD program. Remember, Pre-Pharmacy courses must be completed with a "C" or better before beginning the program. And, in order to be considered for admission to the professional program, the minimum Pre-Pharmacy courses and Pre-Pharmacy Mathematics and Science courses grade point averages must be 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. Students will be required to have completed all Pre-Pharmacy courses in the spring term preceding the intended start date. For example, students applying to enter the School of Pharmacy (SOP) in the fall of 2025 must complete all Pre-Pharmacy courses by the end of the spring 2025 semester. However, if it becomes necessary for an applicant to complete any Pre-Pharmacy courses during the summer preceding fall admission, then prior approval from the SOP Office of Professional & Student Affairs will be required. Applicants are encouraged to contact the SOP early in the application process to discuss any unusual circumstances that may impact your overall application.
Other considerations include the number of repeated courses. Applicants may repeat up to four courses within the Pre-Pharmacy curriculum. The repeated course(s) is averaged for the cumulative GPA calculation, but only the most recent attempt is used to calculate the Pre-Pharmacy and Pre-Pharmacy Math and Science GPAs. Applicants who have a total of five or more repeated courses within the Pre-Pharmacy curriculum will be considered on an individual basis for admission to the program.
The deadline for submission of the PharmCAS application for fall 2025 admission is June 2, 2025.
Applicants who submit their application to PharmCAS by February 3, 2025, will receive preferential consideration for scholarships.
The SIUE School of Pharmacy uses a rolling admissions process. Applicants will be interviewed and notified of admission status as their application is completed and reviewed during the application cycle.
All interested students are encouraged to review the Professional Licensure Disclosure information on our website.
