Academic Standards and Policies Committee
The Academic Standards and Policies Committee is a standing committee of the Faculty Senate Curriculum Council. This committee has the responsibility to review existing standards and policies and to recommend changes for the purpose of improving the quality of instruction. The operation and guidelines for the Academic Standards and Policies Committee is outlined in the operating papers for the Curriculum Council.
The Chairperson of the Academic Standards and Policies Committee is selected from the Curriculum Council members by the Chair with the approval of the majority of the Council. At least three additional members are appointed by the Chair of the Academic Standards and Policies Committee, of which at least two are faculty. Terms of service are one year, and members cannot serve more than three consecutive terms. The Chair serves as a liaison to other committees within the University which deal with academic standards and policies such as the Graduate Council and special task forces.
